Patchwork & Quilts

Heart Quilt from remnants

As a lifelong sewer I have developed a passion for making patchwork & quilts. I particularly enjoy using found materials and remnants from my own and other people's projects. The quilt pictured here was made exclusively from remnant fabrics from my stash - a so called 'stashbuster'.

More recently I have found a penchant for making memory quilts. A memory quilt is made out of used textiles - often old clothing - which are cut open, laid flat and joined together to make a blanket. Usually my goal is to make a twin size blanket - large enough for a single bed. Sometimes there are enough supplies to make a bigger quilt and sometimes there are only enough to make a bag or a pillow.
